DESCRIPTION:As concrete material and construction science continues to develop\, more owners and engineers are beginning to require that the contractor\, placing and finishing concrete slabs-on-ground\, are certified to do the work.  Why? Because as technology advances\, so should the knowledge base of the concrete finisher or contractor!  This is the best way for the builder or engineer to assure that their client will receive what has been specified. This one-day course provides you with the following essential information regarding cast-in-place concrete:\n\n* Basic concrete technology                        * Control join layout\n\n* Proper testing procedures                        * Architectural concrete\n\n* Placement procedures                              * Curing requirements\n\n* Finishing tools                                           * Troubleshooting\n\n\n\nTo qualify for the Flatwork Finisher designation\, you must achieve 70% or greater onthe examination as well as having 4500 hours of work experience and forthe Flatwork Technician designation\, you must obtain 70% or greater on the examination with no work experience required. Those that successfully pas the examinaton will be certified by ACI-International of a five year period.\n\n\n\nExams are also available in Spanish. Request for a Spanish workbook and exam must be made by contacting our office at 780-436-5645.\n\n\n\nThe exam may be read to a candidate if they wish by making arrangements with our office prior to the day of the course.
